we LOVE you iVillage! Thanks for including our Thoughtful Gardener Pruners  in your roundup of fabulous gardening tools. We love the gardening mantra “Reap What You Sow” printed on the inside its handle. Check out the rest of our wonderful gardening tools online here too. Thoughtful Gardener Pruners– $23.95.

Spring Clean Your Sweaters…

Winter’s over!! Tis the season to clean all your sweaters before storing for the summer. We’ve got everything you need to make sure your babies are well taken care until fall. The Wool & Cashmere Shampoo from The Laundress is sulfate-free and specially formulated to prolong the elasticity and life of your woolens and cashmere. It’s great for everyday washing by hand and machine, but the addition of cedar extract makes it perfect for end-of-season cleaning (just say NO to mothballs, people!).  $19 for a 16 oz. bottle washes 32 loads.

Also, by popular demand–The Sweater Stone! Fabric pilling is the bane of my existence. When the fibers of knitted fabrics become loose through wear they form balls on the surface. Not cute. Use this stone to gently brush away the pills and make your fabrics look new again. And they’re not just for sweaters! Use it on most knits, blankets, and upholstery, too! The Sweater Stone is $18 and can last up to ten years.

Reach for the Stars!

We have a little Star Gazer story going on at the moment, now that the weather is starting to get nicer (yesterday was sooo nice here in NYC, it makes me remember that I will be able to ditch my winter coat once and for all). From this cool Name a Star Kit (fun present for someone hard to shop for, I am sure they don’t have their own star!), to these great Star Finding books from H A Rey (Curious George fame. Both books are hardcover, real keepsakes!). The Stars- a New Way to See Them, is a great book for learning about the stars for both kids and adults. Find the Constellations contains lots of updated information on the planets & scientific information, star charts, etc. all in a very easy to understandable format. Our Star Gazer Kit is a gem too- with telescope, log book, glow in the dark stars all tucked in a fun, reusable tin. Name a Star Kit– $40, The Stars- A New Way to See Them– $27, Find the Constellations– $20, Star Gazers Kit– $19.95.
