Maira Kalman Exhibit at (NYC) The Jewish Museum…

I am a big fan of Maira Kalman and spent some time Monday checking out her first museum retrospective at The Jewish Museum. If you are not already familiar with her, you might remember me writing about her earlier as she is the artist behind the wonderfully clever New Yorkistan New Yorker cover (that we have as a puzzle and a greeting card). The exhibit is entitled Maira Kalman: Various Illuminations (of a Crazy World)— above is her self portrait, but the whole show is a look into her “wonderful world of unique people, objects, and places.”  Her simple, clever style (often laced with historical references) really resonates with me. The show is up until July 31st so go check it out if you are in NYC!
